    Softball roundup: La Habra, San Juan Hills collect league wins

    Sophomore Sadie Wyse belted two home runs and drove in five runs to lead La Habra’s softball team past host Canyon 11-9 in the Crestview League on Thursday.

    Ranked sixth in Orange County, La Habra (13-3, 2-1) racked up 14 hits to remain tied for first place with Pacifica and El Modena in league.

    Wyse, Eliana Corona, Makenna Caffrey, Alyssa Hernandez, Georgia Rickenbacker and Ginger Rickenbacker each collected two hits for the Highlanders.

    Sophia Sandoval had hits to lead Canyon (9-5, 0-3).

    In other games Thursday: 

    In the Sea View League:

    San Juan Hills 2, El Toro 1: The visiting Stallions (12-2-1, 1-0) scored twice in the sixth inning to support freshman starter Grace Kumpel. Seattle commit Leeloo Narvaez and freshman Brynn Mesnick each had two hits for No. 19 San Juan Hills.

    Jo Stofle recorded 14 strikeouts for No. 15 El Toro (7-6, 0-1).

    In nonleague:

    Huntington Beach 6, El Modena 2: Sophomores Rubygrace Fauscette and Juliette Foutz combined on a complete game and Emma Johnson had three hits to pace a 15-hit attack for the visiting No. 21 Oilers (5-6).

    Jocelyn Alatorre hit a home run for the No. 5 Vanguards (7-6).
