    • March 18, 2026

One person was killed and a second taken to a hospital with burns and smoke inhalation when a two-story Westminster home became engulfed by fire on Tuesday night, March 17, authorities said.

Orange County firefighters responded to the home in the 6200 block of Apache Road and found a woman outside and a “significant volume of fire,” said Capt. Greg Barta of the Orange County Fire Authority.

Firefighters simultaneously battled the fire and searched inside the home, Barta said. On the first floor, they found the body.

Further information about the person was not immediately known.

The woman was taken by paramedics to a hospital.

Crews quickly knocked down the fire, Barta said. The cause and origin of the blaze were under investigation.
