    • August 10, 2026

Substitute Prisca Chilufya took a pass from substitue Evelyn Shores and scored the equalizer in the 72nd minute as Angel City FC earned a point in the standings with a 2-2 tie with the Reign late Sunday night at Lumen Field in Seattle.

Chilufya, who came on for Claire Emslie in the 69th minute, was hit in stride as Shores’ pass sailed over the Seattle defense, and she chipped the ball over Reign goalkeeper Claudia Dickey to tie the match that Angel City initially led 1-0. Shores also came on in the 69th minute replacing Sophia Mattice.

The result leaves Angel City and Seattle both with 24 points in a battle for the eighth spot in the National Women’s Soccer League standings.

Defender Gisele Thompson gave ACFC a lead in the 32nd minute when she took a pass from midfielder Ary Borges, maneuvered into position for a left-footed shot into the goal at the near post.

Seattle pulled even in the 50th minute when Sally Menti took a pass from Mia Fishel, freed herself from ACFC defender Emily Sams, and scored.

Two minutes later, it was Fishel’s blast from just outside the top of the box that curled into the back of the net for a 2-1 Seattle lead.

Angel City next faces the Washington Spirit, which is second in NWSL (36 points).
