    Baseball roundup: El Dorado rallies for win over Villa Park; Los Alamitos sweeps Edison

    Xavi Cadena hit a go-ahead, two-run home run for El Dorado in the sixth inning in its 4-2 win over Villa Park in a Crestview League game Friday at Villa Park High.

    Brady Abner hit a game-tying RBI triple for El Dorado (8-5, 1-1) on the previous at-bat. Justin Karg hit a double earlier in the inning and later scored on Abner’s triple.

    Lorenzo Favela drove in a run on a sacrifice bunt for El Dorado’s first run in the sixth.

    Julian Rodriguez pitched 3⅓ innings of scoreless relief to earn the win for El Dorado.

    Jack McGuire had 10 strikeouts for Villa Park (7-4-1, 1-2) and Justin Lopez hit a run-scoring double.

    In other games Friday:

    In the Empire League:

    Laguna Hills 7, Ocean View 4: Truett Kordes had a home run, a double and four RBIs for Laguna Hills in a home win over Ocean View.

    Chris Cooke went 3 for 3 with a home run and 3RBIs for Laguna Hills (6-5, 2-1). Christian Sigaty pitched a complete game with three earned runs allowed and seven strikeouts.

    Nate Fetherston went 1 for 3 with a RBI for Ocean View (3-8, 1-3).

    In the Sunset League:

    Los Alamitos 6, Edison 5: Will Adams hit a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth inning for Los Alamitos to help the Griffins sweep the season series against Edison.

    Tanner Nickols hit a run-scoring single for Los Alamitos (8-4, 5-1) in the previous at bat. Hudson Binder pitched two shutout innings with no hits allowed to earn the win for the Griffins.

    Jordan Alverez had a triple and two RBIs for Edison (4-9, 0-6). Aiden Snyder had a RBI and Ben Wilson and Cody Kruis each went 2 for 4 with a run scored.

    Huntington Beach 13, Marina 1: Huntington Beach scored in all but one inning in a home rout of Marina.

    Dane Cunningham went 2 for 2 with two doubles and two RBIs for Huntington Beach (7-2-1, 6-0). Jason Dunham went 2 for 4 with a triple and a RBI. Ely Mason went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. Eddie Lucero had two hits with a double, a stolen base and three RBIs.

    Jared Grindlinger and Sol Moriyama each had two hits with a RBI. Benny Breese earned the win on the mound with two perfect innings and Tanner Brown had four strikeouts in three innings.

    Liam Haynes drove in the lone run for Marina (3-7, 1-5).

    In the Freeway League:

    Canyon 5, Crean Lutheran 4: Blake Semanie drew a bases-loaded walk to end the game for Canyon.

    Canyon (6-6, 2-1) drew three consecutive walks in the seventh inning. Reed Stoneburner went 2 for 2 with a double and a RBI and Blake Lau had two hits with a double. Bryce Lloyd had a double and a RBI.

    In the Grove League:

    Orange 17, Bolsa Grande 11: Orange scored eight runs in the first inning in a high-scoring win over Bolsa Grande on the road.

    Andres Marin-Lopez hit two doubles and drove in three runs for Orange (7-5, 2-0). Alex Mendoza and Abraham Ontiveros each drove in three runs and Braxton Nock had a double with two RBIs. Myles Kennedy added two RBIs for the Panthers.

    In the Orange League:

    Anaheim 2, Saddleback 0: Gabriel Lopez pitched a shutout with five hits allowed and eight strikeouts for Anaheim in a league win over Saddleback.

    Maddox Gramajo had a RBI for Anaheim (5-4, 2-1) and Jayden Sanchez hit a double.

    Western 14, Santiago 13: Ernesto Cortez hit a walk-off single for Western in a high-scoring win over Santiago.

    Cortez had four hits with three RBIs for Western (6-4, 2-1). Chris Mireles went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. Marley Holguin and Raymond Rabelo each drove in two runs.

    Jauro Camino went 4 for 4 with a double and a RBI for Santiago (1-10, 0-1). Chris Arceo had a double with two RBIs and Santiago Lopez had three RBIs.

    In the Pacific Coast League:

    Irvine 11, University 5: Roshan Patel had a stellar day on the mound and at the plate for Irvine.

    Irvine (5-6, 2-2) scored 10 runs in the first two innings. Patel allowed one earned run in six innings to get the win and had a double with three RBIs on offense. Owen Song went 2 for 2 with four stolen bases and a RBI.

    Luke Emrich had a triple for University (5-6, 3-1) and Jonas Kim drove in a run.

    In the Anaheim Lions Tournament:

    Tesoro 3, Murrieta Valley 0: Corwin Allard pitched five shutout innings for Tesoro with five strikeouts in a win over Murrieta Valley.

    Chase Vlahos struck out the side in the sixth and Aidan Nieto got the save for Tesoro (5-3). Vlahos had two hits with two stolen bases and a RBI. James Rodenkirk went 2 for 2 with a double and Owen Clark drove in a run.

    In the Phoenix Tournament:

    Fullerton 12, Owyhee (Idaho) 2: Ronnie Martinez went 3 for 3 with a triple and two runs batted in for Fullerton in a win over Owyhee of Idaho.

    Caleb Brown and Sammy Chacon each drove in two runs for Fullerton and Brown hit a double.

    Gavin Talavera allowed two hits and no earned runs in four innings to earn the win.

    In nonleague games:

    El Modena 3, Brea Olinda 2: Matthew Gutierrez hit a go-ahead triple in the seventh inning for El Modena (9-3) in a road win over Brea Olinda.

    Troy Nielsen extended El Modena’s lead to two runs with a sacrifice fly in the ensuing at bat. Isaac Silva had two hits with a RBI and Nielsen went 2 for 2. Cash Ferinac pitched a complete game, allowed two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts.

    Nick Davis hit a RBI single for Brea Olinda (3-8) in the seventh inning to cut the lead to 3-2. Cameron Kudron hit a single with two outs but Cameron Collazo of El Modena threw out the potential game-tying runner at the plate to end the game.

    Adam Sena had a triple with a RBI.

    Dana Hills 6, Capistrano Valley 1: Gavin Giese had 15 strikeouts for Dana Hills in a home win over Capistrano Valley.

    Giese allowed just four hits in six innings with one run allowed. Dana Hills (9-4) scored four runs in the first inning.

    Ryan See went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI for the Dolphins. Ryan Georgia had two RBIs and Aiden Desormiers added two hits.
