    San Juan Hills boys basketball wins, advances to CIF State finals

    The unlikely season of the San Juan Hills boys basketball continues.

    The Stallions beat Tulare Union, 74-66, on Tuesday in the CIF Southern California Regional Division IV championship game at Tulare Union High.

    San Juan Hills (21-14) will play Sacred Heart Prep of Atherton (20-11) in the CIF State Division IV championship game at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Saturday at noon.

    It will be the first CIF State boys basketball championship game for both teams.

    The Stallions finished third in the South Coast League and lost in the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs. They then went into the Regional playoffs to win four games to advance to the CIF State finals.

    Rocco Jensen scored 24 points with five rebounds in the win over Tulare Union. Garrett Brehmer scored 13 points with seven rebounds and three assists. Kellen Owens scored 16 points and had three steals.

    Also for the Stallions, Nick Pandis scored nine points with three steals and Oliver Sandor scored six points with six rebounds and blocked two shots.
