No. 1 Orange Lutheran enters challenging stretch of schedule
    • March 23, 2026

The schedule for the Orange Lutheran baseball team gets very difficult beginning this week.

The Lancers have played only four games going into this week. Those games were sort of like spring training for Orange Lutheran, the No. 1 team in the Orange County Top 25 and No. 3 in the Prep Baseball Report state rankings.

Orange Lutheran departed Monday for North Carolina. The Lancers will play in the National High School Invitational tournament at the USA Baseball complex in Cary, NC.

Three other California teams are among the 16 teams in the NHSI: St. John Bosco, the No. 1 team in the PBR California rankings and in the MaxPreps national rankings; Harvard-Westlake, No. 7 in the PBR state rankings; and Aquinas, No. 9 in the PBR state rankings.

When the NHSI ends Orange Lutheran returns to Southern California to play St. John Bosco in a three-game Trinity League series that begins March 31 at Hart Park in Orange.

Following the Bosco series Orange Lutheran plays in the Boras Classic South tournament, April 7-10 at JSerra and Mater Dei high schools. At the conclusion of the Boras tournament, the Lancers resume Trinity League play with a three-game series against JSerra and three-game sets to follow against Santa Margarita, Servite and Mater Dei.
