Summer menus for Starbucks, Coffee Bean both feature horchata
    • May 11, 2026

Starbucks’ summer menu will come out on Tuesday, May 12 with a new cold beverage and the return of a favorite.

The new item is called Tropical Butterfly Refresher. It’s a boba drink with passionfruit and guava flavors and mango-pineapple flavored pearls, plus what the Seattle coffee giant calls a “splash of butterfly pea flower infusion” to give it a purple hue.

The reprise is Iced Horchata Shaken Espresso, made with oatmilk, cinnamon and vanilla flavoring. It launched last May and quickly became a breakaway hit, according to a 2025 news release. Sales exceeded similar launches by 44%.

This year, it’s accompanied by a new Horchata Frappuccino.

Also coming back is the Unicorn Cake Pop, which is vanilla with white chocolate frosting.

Summer merchandise includes a road trip collection with mugs, tumblers, totebags and picnic blankets.

Starbucks has added a scheduling option to its app. It’s on the right side of “review order” page under “pickup time.”
