Oliver’s Osteria in Laguna Beach reopens
    • August 10, 2026

More than five months after temporarily closing its doors, Oliver’s Osteria on Laguna Canyon Road has, at last, reopened. It started serving diners again on Saturday, Aug. 8.

“To every guest who has checked in on us, sent kind messages, shared memories, and patiently waited for our doors to reopen, thank you,” read a message posted to the restaurant’s Instagram shortly before reopening. “Your support has meant more to us than words can express.”

A pair of small fires earlier this year resulted in the Italian eatery’s closure. Although both fires, which broke out on Jan. 29 and Feb 15, were quickly contained and resulted in no injuries, they led chef-owner Erik De March to halt business to ensure the safety and soundness of the building.

Also of note during its pause, the Michelin Guide recognized Oliver’s Osteria in its 2026 guide. The restaurant also received recognition in 2021 and 2025.

The restaurant, found at 853 Laguna Canyon Road, is known for Emilia-Romagna cuisine and pasta dishes like cacio e pepe, risotto al ragu di cinghiale and the lasagna classica, including a tasting menu on Fridays and Saturdays .

In addition to its Laguna Beach location, De March has a second space in Irvine called Oliver’s Trattoria, found at 6511 Quail Hill Parkway.
