Coachella 2026: Madonna joins Sabrina Carpenter for ‘Vogue,’ ‘Like a Prayer’
    • April 18, 2026

Just when it felt like Sabrina Carpenter had nothing left to top her Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival headlining set, the pop mega star saved her biggest surprise for last.

Well, for Weekend 2 at least.

Toward the final stretch of her performance, Carpenter stunned the crowd by bringing out Madonna, turning an already cinematic set into a full-blown moment. What followed was a multi-song collaboration that fully leaned into nostalgia and legacy, harnessing the power of pop.

“Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show,” Madonna screamed into the crowd from the Coachella Stage.

The pair launched into “Vogue” before transitioning into “Like a Prayer,” sending the audience into a full frenzy as the surprise unfolded in real time. Dressed in a purple corset, boots, and a jacket she expressed was reminiscent of her Coachella look twenty years ago, Madonna framed the appearance as something deeper than a casual guest spot.

“Twenty years ago today, I performed at Coachella,” she shared. “It was the first time I performed ‘Confessions on a Dance Floor,’ so you can understand why it’s so exciting to be here 20 years later. Same boots, same jacket, it’s like a full circle moment.”

Leaning into the night’s energy, Madonna also delivered an unexpected astrology tidbit, noting it was a new moon in Taurus with multiple planets in Aries, encouraging the crowd to “all get along.”

“To that point, the great thing about music is it brings people together,” she continued. “It’s one place people have to put their differences aside and have a good time. I’m thrilled to be a part of that healing.”

They finished it off with an unreleased track that’s rumored to be on Madonna’s upcoming record “Confessions II,” and from the feel of it, fans were already singing along word-for-word.

Madonna’s appearance was already speculated amongst fans on social media Friday, making the night feel extra special for those who were hoping to catch the “Material Girl” in action.

The surprise fit seamlessly into Carpenter’s “Sabrinawood” aesthetic, blending old Hollywood glamour with one of pop’s most adored icons. Even in the desert, some moments are still unexpected, and that’s the magic that Coachella brings to festival goers each year.
