Six Flags Magic Mountain closes kids area for Looney Tunes Land makeover
    • April 27, 2026

Six Flags Magic Mountain has begun the final push to transform a 40-year-old kids area that will give starring roles to Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote, Road Runner and the Tasmanian Devil as the Valencia amusement park prepares to celebrate its 55th anniversary this summer.

Magic Mountain closed Bugs Bunny World on Monday, April 27 as construction ramps up on the rethemed Looney Tunes Land set to open this summer.

Construction walls went up around the four-acre kids area as work crews pressed forward on all three phases of the project that began in January.

Magic Mountain expects to announce an opening date for the new Looney Tunes Land very soon.

The expanded construction zone means 10 kids attractions in Bugs Bunny World will be out of commission until the new Looney Tunes Land opens.

The Road Runner Express kids coaster will remain open during construction and Looney Tunes characters will continue to pose for photos with visitors during the kids area makeover.

Magic Mountain has a collection of rides for kids 42 inches or taller — including Ninja, Swashbuckler, Buccaneer, Teen Titans Turbo Spin and Grand American Carousel.

The massive Looney Tunes makeover will introduce a campground travel park theme to the kids zone with two new play areas and five rethemed rides.

The Six Flags creative team will draw inspiration from Warner Bros. cartoon animator Chuck Jones for the new Looney Tunes Land that will be divided into four distinct zones: Bugs Bunny’s Play Park, Camp Duck Amuck, Road Runner Ridge and Taz-Mania.

    Bugs Bunny’s Play Park

The new Bugs Bunny’s play area will introduce a playground with a play tree structure, burrow tunnel, slides and carrot climbing elements.

Elmer Fudd’s Weather Balloons ride, Sylvester’s Pounce & Bounce kids drop tower, Yosemite Sam’s Flight School plane ride and the Merrie Melodies Merrie-Go-Round will remain after the makeover.

Granny’s House will be relocated to the central park area with an explorable interior space.

Wascal’s restaurant will be rethemed with indoor and outdoor seating.

    Camp Duck Amuck

Forest ranger Daffy Duck will lead a troop of junior rangers through a High Sierra territory where it’s never duck hunting season.

Taz’s Trucking Company will be reimagined as Daffy’s Forest Four-Wheelers.

Daffy Duck’s Adventure Tours bus ride will remain and the Canyon Blaster coaster will be reimagined to match the High Sierra theme of Camp Duck Amuck.

    Road Runner Ridge

Kids will join Wile E. Coyote as he chases the Road Runner across a New Mexico-inspired desert filled with Acme traps and gadgets.

Wile E’s iconic painted tunnel will serve as a photo op backdrop in the new Road Runner Ridge district dedicated to the dueling duo.

The Road Runner Express coaster will remain after the transformation to Looney Tunes Land.

    Taz-Mania

Taz-Mania’s lush tropical district will be designed by the destructive Taz who wreaks havoc after escaping his cage.

Taz’s Exploration Trail will invite families on a treasure hunt themed to the always hungry chaotic character.

The Whistlestop Train will be rethemed as Taz’s Tasmanian Train Tours.
