    • March 15, 2026

LOS ANGELES — Senior Night at Pauley Pavilion ended with a win for UCLA gymnastics, which defeated Utah 197.850-197.400 on Saturday night.

Seniors Jordan Chiles, Ciena Alipio, Carissa Clay and Madisyn Anyimi made their final home appearances as the No. 5 Bruins improved to 15-2 and extended their winning streak to nine meets. A school-record crowd of 13,089 watched the meet.

“I think the thing that’s so special about this class is that they’re all so different,” UCLA coach Janelle McDonald said. “Just in who they are as personalities, but also their impact on the team.”

Chiles led the Bruins again, winning the all-around for the ninth consecutive week with a 39.800. Freshman Ashlee Sullivan won vault, and Alipio finished second on beam. Clay made her UCLA competitive debut on beam, and Anyimi contributed on bars in an exhibition routine.

UCLA hit all 24 routines and scored at least 49.400 on each event. The Bruins opened with a season-high vault rotation and pulled away with a 49.550 on floor in the final rotation.

Senior Ciena Alipio reflected on some of the highlights of her UCLA career.

“I’d say my freshman year making it to Elite Eight after not knowing what that year was going to look like for us as a team,” Alipio said. “And then last year making Four on the Floor and then also my 10 at Big Tens on beam.”

McDonald also praised Anyimi’s growth in the program.

“Maddi has been this amazing, steady build of what the opportunity of being on this team can do for you,” McDonald said. “She came in as a student and became a part of the team. She has taken every year and continued to grow and get better.”

UCLA will next compete at the Big Ten Championships in Champaign, Illinois, on Saturday.
