Rylee Silva continued to be a two-way force for Orange Lutheran’s softball team Friday.

The sophomore pitched five scoreless innings and went 3 for 3 with three RBIs to lead the Lancers past Huntington Beach 11-0 for a spot in the semifinals of the Best of the West tournament in Santa Maria.

In finishing 3-0 in pool play, Orange Lutheran (13-5) advanced to play Oxnard in Saturday’s 9 a.m. semifinal at Righetti High.

In the second semifinal, Thousand Oaks faces Chaminade at 11:30 a.m.

The championship is scheduled for 2:15 p.m.

Silva (8-2) lowered her ERA to 1.15 as she held Huntington Beach (11-9) to four hits. She had six strikeouts with two walks.

Silva is hitting .343 with 12 RBIs.

Carlie Snyder went 3 for 4 to help the Lancers finish with 15 hits.

Mia Scott, Melia Munoz and Madelyn Armendariz each drove in two runs.

    In other games Friday:

    In the Empire League:

Fullerton 10, Kennedy 0: Katelynn Mathews fired four scoreless innings with six strikeouts and Soleil Luna hit a home run to lead the host Indians (18-2, 2-0). Fullerton has outscored its first two league foes 20-0.

    In the Crestview League:

Pacifica 10, El Modena 8: Junior Kenzie Bledl threw 4 1/3 innings of relief to earn the win and help the visiting Mariners (13-8, 3-3) rally from a 4-0 deficit against the host Vanguards (11-11, 3-3).

Pacifica freshman left fielder Jenna Valladares continued her breakout season with two hits and three RBIs as the Mariners bounced back from one-run losses earlier in the week against Canyon (13-8, 1-4) and La Habra (16-5, 4-3).

“We needed that,” Pacifica coach Tony Arduino said of the win. “Every game (in league) is a grind. I think 8-4 or 7-5 might win it. Anyone can beat anyone on any given day.”

Kylie Tafua and sisters Brooklyn and Hallie Calderon each hit home runs for El Modena. Sophomore Giuliana Vega pitched her third consecutive complete game this week for a depleted pitching staff.
