    Baseball roundup: Servite beats Orange Lutheran despite no-hitter by Gary Morse

    Servite had zero hits but still managed to beat Orange Lutheran 1-0 in a Trinity League baseball game Wednesday night at Hart Park.

    Gary Morse pitched a no-hitter for Orange Lutheran (19-5, 7-4) but allowed two walks and had 10 strikeouts. The Lancers are ranked No. 1 in Orange County while the Friars are No. 5.

    Mikey Cabral scored for Servite (14-12, 6-8) on a wild pitch in the seventh inning.

    Shane Wendler pitched a two-hit shutout for Servite with three strikeouts. Cabral and Jaden Liu drew walks for the Friars.

    Trevor Deack had two hits for Orange Lutheran.

    JSerra 13, Santa Margarita 3: JSerra scored 11 runs in the first four innings and hit four home runs in a rout of Santa Margarita.

    Aiden Rae, Brise Boop, Blake Bowen and Logan Osmundson each homered for JSerra (10-17, 4-10). Rae and Osmundson also doubled Rae added three RBIs. Owen Mescall had a triple with two RBIs and Emmett Kopp had eight strikeouts in five innings.

    Andre Owens hit a home run for Santa Margarita (14-12, 4-10). Warren Gravely IV went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.

    In the Sunset League:

    Huntington Beach 2, Newport Harbor 1: Huntington Beach clinched its ninth consecutive league championship by beating Newport Harbor.

    Tennessee signee Jared Grindlinger pitched a complete game, allowing one run on five hits with seven strikeouts for Huntington Beach (19-6-1, 15-2). Elyjah Mason went 2 for 3 with a home run for the Oilers. Grindlinger and Dane Cunningham also had hits.

    Keaton Anderson allowed no earned runs in four innings for Newport Harbor (19-8, 13-4) and Grant Horsley had three strikeouts in two innings. Oren Damush had a double with a RBI and Brooks Francis added a double.

    The Sailors have clinched second place in the league standings.

    Edison 4, Corona del Mar 0: Noah Hunter and Parker Ross combined to shut out Corona del Mar and keep Edison in a tie for third place in the league standings.

    Hunter allowed just two hits in six innings with 10 strikeouts. He also hit a 3-run home run and Carson Kruis added a double for Edison (12-15, 8-9).

    Will Chavez pitched a complete game for Corona del Mar (13-13, 6-11) with four strikeouts. Jacob Olson had two hits for the Sea Kings.

    Marina 3, Fountain Valley 2 (8 innings): Will Baker hit a game-winning home run in the eighth inning for Marina.

    Jaxon Vilardi went 1 for 3 with a RBI and a stolen base for Marina (13-14, 8-9) and Jaxon Sumpter stole two bases. Brody Schatzman allowed just one run on two hits in five innings.

    Ethan Cortez went 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI for Fountain Valley (12-14, 6-11). Nixon Hunt had eight strikeouts in 5⅓ innings.

    In the Pacific Coast League:

    Woodbridge 6, Sage Hill 0: Woodbridge clinched at least a share of the Pacific Coast League championship by beating Sage Hill..

    The Warriors have won four of the last six Pacific Coast League championships and won three consecutive years in 2021-23.

    Vincent DeMarco allowed one hit in six shutout innings with 11 strikeouts for Woodbridge (15-10, 11-2). Alex Johnson went 2 for 3 with a triple and a RBI. Caden Camacho went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

    JJ Metcalf had a double with a RBI and Kyle Underwood added a stolen base and a run.

    Caleb Kuo had both of Sage Hill’s (7-13, 3-10) two hits.

    Irvine 6, Laguna Beach 0: Roshan Patel pitched a one-hit shutout for Irvine with six strikeouts in a home win over Laguna Beach.

    Patel also had a double with two RBIs for Irvine (13-12, 10-3). Owen Song went 2 for 2 with a stolen base and a RBI and Smith Spivey had a hit with a RBI. Jack Dressendorfer went 2 for 4 with a double and Nico Macalino drove in a run.

    Lincoln Adams had the lone hit for Laguna Beach (16-9, 9-4).

    Irvine moved into second place in the league standings and can share a league title with a win and a Woodbridge loss on Friday.

    In the Sea View League:

    Mission Viejo 5, Capistrano Valley 4 (8 innings): Mission Viejo clinched the outright Sea View League championship by beating Capistrano Valley.

    The Diablos most recently won a league championship in 2021 when it won the South Coast League title. Mission Viejo (17-8, 8-3) most recently won the Sea View League in 2016.

    Carson Browning and Caleb Tucker each hit home runs for the Diablos. Browning went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. Robert Nestor went 2 for 4 with a RBI and Logan Marsee went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI.

    Tucker pitched 6⅓ innings and had six strikeouts.

    Brock Rainis had a double with three RBIs for Capo Valley (7-19, 4-7).

    Beckman 10, San Juan Hills 2: Beckman scored six runs in the sixth inning to beat San Juan Hills and set up a game Friday to determine second place in the league standings.

    Gus Powell went 3 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs for Beckman (16-9-1, 5-6). Moe McEvoy went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Mark Terry went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs. Kavin Patel allowed two runs in 6 ⅓ innings with four strikeouts.

    Garrett Gandolfo went 3 for 3 with two doubles for San Juan Hills and Clay Riggs drove in two runs.

    The two teams play Friday at San Juan Hills to determine which team gets second place. Both teams have clinched an automatic playoff spot.

    In the Crestview League:

    Cypress 3, Villa Park 0: Drew Slevcove pitched a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts for Cypress against second-place Villa Park.

    Hibiki Suzuki had a double with two RBIs for Cypress (20-5, 10-1) and Jake DeLaquil drove in a run. Tyler Velarde added a double and scored a run.

    Aidan Young had a single and a stolen base for Villa Park (16-8-1, 5-4). Jack McGuire pitched a complete game with three hits allowed and five strikeouts.

    Foothill 3, La Habra 2: AJ Nagler hit a home run for Foothill in a home win over La Habra.

    Aidan Gogley went 2 for 3 with a RBI and Presley Gaborno drove in a run for Foothill (16-9, 4-5). Caden Lauridsen allowed one run in six innings with six strikeouts and Grady Wright got the save.

    Angel Acuna had eight strikeouts and allowed one earned run in 5⅔ innings for La Habra (10-14-1, 2-7). Angelo Patino went 2 for 3 with a RBI and Bobby Brooks went 2 for 3 with a double.

    In the South Coast League:

    Dana Hills 12, Aliso Niguel 2: Dana Hills clinched an automatic playoff spot with a dominant win over Aliso Niguel.

    Ryan Georgia and Tyler Van Duyne each hit home runs for Dana Hills (17-9, 6-5) and Ledge Burke had two doubles. Georgia went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and Van Duyne went 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Aiden Desormiers had a double, a RBI and two stolen bases and Luke Blankenship went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs.

    Carson Etnire went 1 for 3 with a stolen base and a RBI for Aliso Niguel (16-8-2, 4-6-1).

    Dana Hills can tie San Clemente for second place in the league standings with a win against Aliso Niguel in the series finale Friday. The Dolphins beat San Clemente in a series earlier this season.

    In the Freeway League:

    Canyon 6, Brea Olinda 5 (10 innings): Canyon scored five runs in the tenth inning to beat Brea Olinda at home.

    Dustin Reveles hit a walk-off 3-run double for Canyon (13-12, 6-3). Nathan Fuzzard was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the tenth and Bryce Lloyd hit a run-scoring single. Kemuel Zhang allowed one run in seven innings with eight strikeouts.

    Chris Rodriguez allowed one run in nine innings for Brea Olinda with nine strikeouts. Matthew Cosylion went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs. Leo Arcos went 3 for 5 with a stolen base and Cole Miller added two hits with a RBI.
