    Freebie of the week: Strongest man and woman competition in Huntington Beach

    So you think you’re pretty strong, huh? Well, stop by Huntington Beach on Saturday, March 28 and see how you’d measure up at the 24th anniversary of California’s Strongest Man & Woman competition. There’s no charge for watching the events.

    The competition is slated to begin around 10 a.m.with each event lasting about an hour. It’s located at 21100 Pacific Coast Highway, across from the Hilton hotel. The event is sanctioned by Strongman Corporation and the top amateur athletes will qualify for Nationals. The winner of the Pro/Am divisions will qualify for a Pro Card and compete in America’s Strongest.

    The competition categories include lightweight, middleweight and heavyweight. Events include the keg toss, car deadlift, harness pull, atlas stones, log clean and press and Viking press.
