Election 2026: Orange County voters now have more options to cast their ballots in person

An additional 152 vote centers open today, May 30, around Orange County — in addition to the nearly 40 that popped up last weekend — with Election Day just around the corner.

Vote centers offer a range of services, aside from serving as a place to cast a ballot. There, voters can obtain a replacement ballot or one in their preferred language, register to vote and cast a provisional ballot or find other help for voting-related issues.

Voters can also return their ballots at one of the 128 drop boxes located around Orange County, or send by mail. But a heads-up if you’re planning to mail: Election officials are encouraging voters to mail ballots before Tuesday, June 2 — Election Day — or request a manual postmark from a U.S. Post Office employee to ensure it’s postmarked by Tuesday and will still be eligible to be counted.

Vote centers will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Monday, June 1. On Election Day, vote centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The vote center at the Garden Grove Sports and Recreation Center, 13641 Deodara Drive, has opened after initially being closed because the building was used as a shelter during the hazmat emergency in Garden Grove. Drop boxes in the evacuation areas that had been shuttered are also reopened.

Nearly 2 million ballots were sent to registered Orange County voters this year.

Those who have already voted can track their ballot status with the California secretary of state’s “Where’s My Ballot” tool at california.ballottrax.net. Voters input their name, date of birth and ZIP code to register. It will provide the status of the ballot, and voters can sign up to receive information about its process via email, text message or call.
