Servite 4×100 relay team sets state track record
    • April 6, 2026

Servite’s 4×100 relay team set a state high school record in the event Saturday by becoming the first group to finish in under 40 seconds.

The foursome finished the race in 39.82 seconds in the Trabuco Hills Invitational.

They ran in this order: sophomore Jorden Wells, junior Benjamin Harris, sophomore Jace Wells and sophomore Kamil Pelovello. Jace and Jorden Wells are twins.

That same group last year ran the 4×100 in 40.00 seconds and had a time of 40.05 earlier this season.

Rosary’s 4×100 relay team also turned in a record-setting performance at Travuo Hills. The group of Tra’via Flournoy, Justine Wilson, Pfeiffer Lee and Maliyah Collins ran it in 45.02 seconds to set the Orange County record.

Harris also ran this season’s fastest 200 meters with his wind-legal time of 20.77. That is the second-best time in Orange County history. The county record of 20.68 was set in 2022 by Servite’s Max Thomas, son of Servite and Rosary track and field coach Brandon Thomas.

Servite’s 4×400 relay team posted the state’s best time this season in 3 minutes, 10.33 seconds. That’s the second-best time in that event in Orange County history. Servite set the record last year at 3:09.46.

Another Servite star Saturday was senior Judah Clark who won the long jump and triple jump. Clark’s mark of 46 feet, 6.5 inches is the seventh-best mark in California this season.

Rosary’s Wilson won the 400 in 54.43 seconds, the second-best time in the state this season and the fourth-best in O.C. history.

Trabuco Hills senior Peyton Brown was victorious in the 110 and 300 hurdles, with state-leading times. Brown finished the 110 hurdles in 14.47 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 38.13.
