Alek Manoah, Tyler Bremner pitch in Angels’ come-from-behind win
    • March 12, 2026

THE GAME: A rough start for Alek Manoah put the Angels in a four-run hole, but a string of relievers, including the Angels’ top prospect, followed with scoreless baseball in an 8-4 Cactus League victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.

PITCHING REPORT: Manoah gave up a three-run homer in the first inning, and finished allowing four runs in four innings. Manoah, who is fighting for the No. 5 starter job, was coming off a start in which he allowed five runs in 2⅓ innings, with five walks. He didn’t allow any runs in his first two starts. Manoah walked two and struck out four against the White Sox, which he felt was progress. “Definitely a … battle,” Manoah said. “First inning, get punched in the mouth. But I thought it was great. I thought I responded well. Kept attacking, didn’t stay away from anything.” … Right-hander Tyler Bremner, the No. 2 pick in last year’s draft, pitched for the first time in a professional game. Bremner walked the first two hitters before getting out of the inning with a strikeout and two grounders. He got Andrew Benintendi looking at a changeup for a third strike. Bremner’s fastball averaged 98 mph. “My stuff felt really good,” Bremner said. “My body felt really good. Mentality was definitely there. Obviously I was visualizing all day just attacking the zone and not walking the first two guys. But I think honestly if I were to give it a reason would just be feeling a little fast.” … Right-hander Sam Bachman pitched two scoreless innings, his second straight multi-inning outing. He has not allowed a run in 5⅔ innings this spring, with 10 strikeouts.

HITTING REPORT: Jo Adell hit a 468-foot home run, his second of the spring, and he added a single. Adell is hitting .323 (10 for 31) this spring, including eight hits in his last 18 at-bats. Adell also scored from second base with the tying run on an infield hit. … The Angels tied the score with three runs in the sixth inning, including hits from Nolan Schanuel and Adell. … Chris Taylor hit his first homer of the spring, snapping a tie in the seventh inning. … The Angels added an insurance run when Bryce Teodosio and Kyren Paris had back-to-back triples. … Oswald Peraza had two more hits, improving to .344 (11 for 32) this spring. … Gustavo Campero had an RBI double in his first game since returning from playing for Colombia in the World Baseball Classic.

INJURY: Vaughn Grissom hurt his left hand on a check swing in the top of the first inning. He told Manager Kurt Suzuki that he could stay in the game, but Suzuki took him out as a precaution. Grissom, who is out of options, is competing for a roster spot. He’s hitting .185 (5 for 27) this spring.
