    These Southern California breweries won at the 2023 U.S. Open Beer Championship

    Southern California breweries took home a lot of bronze plus some other precious metals from the 2023 U.S. Open Beer Championship.

    More than 9,000 brews from 3,107 entries were judged in this year’s competition, which took place in Oxford, Ohio, according to the event. Winners were listed this week on its website.

    Toppling Goliath Brewing of Decorah, Iowa, won four gold medals to become the 2023 Grand National Champion.

    Returning winners from last’s year’s competition include Bravus Brewing Company of Anaheim and Evans Brewing Co. of Corona.

    Los Angeles County

    Old Stump Brewing Co.: Bronze medal for Blonde Conniption, in the Golden or Blonde Ale category. 2896 Metropolitan Place, Pomona.

    Pocock Brewing Company: Silver medal for Despicable, American Berry/Fruit Beer; bronze medal for Pocock Root Beer, Adult Root Beer. 24907 Avenue Tibbitts, Suite B, Santa Clarita.
