Schroeder Park is back in action.

Huntington Beach leaders recently celebrated the completion of a refresh to the park on the north end of town.

A rubberized surface replaces a sand pit and there is new fitness equipment available for the public to use, new picnic tables, new lighting and new pathways for taking a walk.

The park, which has been around since 1966, also offers a playground and grassy areas.
