Scooby-Doo characters will take on Universal monsters at Fan Fest Nights
    • March 27, 2026

Universal Studios Hollywood visitors will be cast as extras in a monster movie that goes off the rails when a villainous character known as The Phantom Director unleashes Universal Monsters such as Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolf Man during the park’s Universal Fan Fest Nights.

The series of after-hours events, now in its second year, will also feature experiences tied to Harry Potter, Nintendo, Dungeons & Dragons and various Japanese manga franchises on select nights from April 23 through May 16.

In “Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot,” guests will help Scooby, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Shaggy uncover a series of clues that will reveal the identity of The Phantom Director and get the production back on track, according to the attraction’s backstory.

While all that is going on, visitors will be able to check out Universal’s outdoor film sets, such as the cobblestone streets of Little Europe and the Court of Miracles, which were used as locations for such iconic horror films as “Frankenstein” in 1931 and “The Wolf Man” in 1941.

Other experiences that will be part of Universal Fan Fest Nights include:

“One Piece” stunt show: The 20-minute “One Piece: Grand Pirate Show” is set on the mysterious outpost of Midori Island and follows the efforts of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Crew to find Pop Greens, a powerful resource on the island. Complications ensue when the Marines invade the island, resulting in battle sequences with lots of pyrotechnics.

“Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe”: In this Japanese language film, Super Sailor Moon must battle a foe who is out to get the Legendary Silver Crystal from Moon Palace’s enchanting hall. The movie will be shown with subtitles.

“Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep”: In this immersive experience, returning from last year, visitors join the Harpers spy network to try to thwart a plot by Xanathar the Beholder.

“The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Forbidden Forest: A Search for the Hippogriff:” In this walk-through attraction, guests search the Forbidden Forest to find a lost Hippogriff.

“Super Nintendo World — Colorful Yoshi Celebration”: Guests will be welcomed to explore Super Nintendo World, where they will have a chance to take selfies with colorful Yoshis.

Fan Fest Nights is a separate-admission event taking place over 12 nights on April 23-25, May 1-3, May 7-9 and May 14-16. For more information, visit www.UniversalStudiosHollywood.com.
