    Orange County baseball Top 25: Los Alamitos moves into Top 10

    The Orange County baseball rankings as of Monday, March 23.

    ORANGE COUNTY BASEBALL TOP 25

    Notable this week: Los Alamitos moves into the Top 10 after a three-game sweep of Edison in the Sunset League. … Orange Lutheran stays at No. 1. … San Juan Hills moves up in the rankings after defeating El Dorado, 7-2. … JSerra remains at No. 15 despite being swept in a three-game Trinity League series by St. John Bosco, which is ranked No. 1 in the nation by MaxPreps.com. … Troy (7-2) enters the county rankings.

    1. Orange Lutheran 3-1: The Lancers beat Damien, 8-5, in their only game last week. They are playing in the National High School Invitational this week in North Carolina. They then have three Trinity League games against St. John Bosco before starting play in the Boras Classic South on April 7.

    2. Huntington Beach 7-2: The Oilers are 6-0 in the Sunset League after a three-game sweep of Marina last week that included a comeback win.

    3. Santa Margarita 10-2: The Eagles went 3-1 in the Bishop Gorman National Baseball Invitational at Las Vegas, finishing with a 15-3 win over Brother Rice of Illinois, the No. 17 team in the MaxPreps national rankings.

    4. Cypress 8-3: The Centurions last week beat Villa Park, 5-3, in a Crestview League game and defeated Mater Dei, 7-5, in a nonleague game.

    8. Newport Harbor 9-2: The Sailors won two of three Sunset League games against rival Corona del Mar with victories of 5-1 and 4-2, then an 8-1 loss against ace lefty Stevie Jones.
