Luxury goods such as handbags and watches worth $6 million, alongside guns and cash, were found in Temecula when police connected an El Segundo home break-in to a theft ring, the El Segundo police said.

A Jan. 10 burglary at a home near California Street and East Sycamore Avenue, where over $600,000 in property such as designer bags and jewelry were taken, prompted an investigation that led to the arrest of a suspect late last month.

A cache of over 100 of high-end purses from Hermes Birkins, Chanel and Louis Vuitton and 22 timepieces from watchmakers Audemars Piguet, Patek Philippe and Rolex were found during a search at the suspect’s home in Temecula, El Segundo police said.

More than $800,000 in cash and 20 firearms were also found at the home.

The suspect, whose name police didn’t provide, was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property. He also faced accusations of crimes in other cities, police said.

Detectives say they believe the suspect is a part of an “organized residential burglary crew” that has been operating throughout Southern California, including in Los Angeles and San Diego counties.

Police ask anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Michael Keltner at 310-524-2263 or at mkeltner@elsegundo.org.
