    Angels beat White Sox to close out Arizona portion of spring training

    THE GAME: The Angels scored four first-inning runs on their way to a 4-3 Cactus League victory over the Chicago White Sox in their final game of the spring in Arizona on Friday in Tempe. The Angels won their last four games, going 16-14 in Arizona. They have three exhibition games to go against the Dodgers in Southern California, beginning Sunday night.

    PITCHING REPORT: Right-hander José Soriano pitched three scoreless innings in his final tune-up before starting on Opening Day next Thursday in Houston. Soriano walked three – all in the first inning – and struck out three. He allowed one hit. He threw 52 pitches, including four that were 100 mph. … Right-hander Jordan Romano pitched a scoreless inning. He has not allowed a run in five innings this spring. … Right-hander Chase Silseth pitched 1⅔ scoreless innings. … Right-hander Ryan Zeferjahn went 1⅓ scoreless innings.

    HITTING REPORT: The Angels scored four runs in the first inning on two hits, including Josh Lowe’s two-run single. They also had two batters hit by pitches and two drew walks. … Mike Trout and Zach Neto were each hit by pitches, and they didn’t hit again. Trout got an X-ray, which was negative. Neto was fine, the Angels said. … Trey Mancini doubled. Mancini, a non-roster invitee, was sent to minor league camp earlier in the day.

    DEFENSE REPORT: Center fielder Bryce Teodosio saved two runs by making a catch as he ran back to the warning track in center field. … Second baseman Donovan Walton fielded a ball that deflected off first baseman Mancini, and then threw to Romano covering the bag in time for the out.
