Brewers rout Dodgers with two big innings
    • March 17, 2026

THE GAME: The Milwaukee Brewers scored 10 runs in the fifth inning and nine in the seventh to beat the Dodgers, 24-9, in a Cactus League game on Monday afternoon at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz.

HITTING REPORT: The Dodgers built a 7-0 lead through four innings. Teoscar Hernandez hit a three-run home run and Eliezer Alfonzo drove in two with a double during a five-run third inning. Hernandez’s homer was his third of the spring and gives him a team-leading 15 RBIs in Cactus League play. … Max Muncy hit a solo home run in the fourth inning, also his third of the spring. … Starting at second base for the second day in a row, Hyeseong Kim was on base twice with a single and a walk and scored two runs. … Brady Ebel, son of Dodgers coach Dino Ebel and the Brewers’ first-round pick in last summer’s draft, hit a home run during the Brewers’ nine-run seventh inning.

PITCHING REPORT: Tyler Glasnow gave up a single to Luis Rengifo to start the game then retired the next 12 batters before walking Joey Ortiz to start the fifth inning. He gave up a run on back-to-back singles before recording his sixth strikeout and coming out of the game after 79 pitches. That’s when things fell apart for the Dodgers. Jerming Rosario replaced Glasnow and couldn’t retire any of the five batters he faced. Blake Treinen replaced Rosario and hit a batter with his first pitch then gave up a grand slam to Brandon Lockridge on his second pitch. … Jack Dreyer didn’t give up a run in his first five innings this spring, but he didn’t retire any of the five batters he faced, giving up three singles and a walk. … Dodgers pitchers walked 12 batters in the game. Brewers pitchers walked 10.

DEFENSE REPORT: Poor defense contributed to the Brewers’ 10-run inning. A bloop single dropped in front of Zyhir Hope near the left-field line and he bobbled the ball for an error. Two runs scored on the play. Nick Senzel couldn’t handle a hard-hit ground ball at third base. … Hope misplayed a fly ball during the seventh inning for his second error of the game.
