Rams agree to terms with long snapper Joe Cardona on 2-year deal
    • March 10, 2026

The Rams have agreed to terms with long snapper Joe Cardona on a two-year contract, a source confirmed on Tuesday.

Cardona, 33, is an 11-year veteran. He spent the first 10 years of his career with the Patriots, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft out of Navy. He spent last season with the Miami Dolphins.

From 2015-2017, Cardona overlapped with new Rams special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone, then an assistant special teams coach for the Patriots.

With Cardona’s signing, it would appear the Rams are moving on from long snapper Jake McQuaide, the former Ram brought in the middle of the 2025 to help stabilize an erratic kicking game.

With McQuaide’s departure and right tackle Rob Havenstein’s retirement last month, the Rams no longer have any players from their St. Louis tenure on their roster.
