Coachella 2026: Kacey Musgraves makes unforgettable festival entrance
    • April 19, 2026

With the sun still blazing high over Indio on Saturday afternoon, Kacey Musgraves drew one of the most crowded Mojave tent sets of the day and made sure her Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival entrance matched the moment.

Riding in on horseback, Musgraves appeared in a white tank top, blue jeans and a cowboy hat, immediately setting the tone for a set that leaned into both classic country and her more polished, genre-blurring sound.

Backed by a full band and a stage adorned by a horse trailer, she opened with “Middle of Nowhere,” easing into newer material like “Back on the Wagon” before moving into “Justified.” The performance balanced stripped-down storytelling with an almost Y2K-tinged pop feel, a mix that resonated well beyond a traditional country crowd.

Though she’s long been a staple for Stagecoach audiences, the Coachella setting felt just as fitting, drawing a wide-ranging crowd that filled the tent well past its edges.

Her weekend two appearance paired with Jack White‘s return to the festival last weekend as a surprise performer in the same Mojave time slot, underscores Coachella’s tendency to reshape its lineup between weekends.

The set also arrives just as Musgraves prepares to release her upcoming album, “Middle of Nowhere,” adding another layer of anticipation around her music.
