    • April 16, 2026

Laguna Beach senior Brandon Wade pitched a no-hitter Wednesday in the Breakers’ 6-0 win over Portola in a Pacific Coast League game at Portola High.

Wade faced 24 batters. Two Portola players reached base by error and another walked.

It was the first Laguna Beach no-hitter by a single pitcher since 1966. The school has had a few multi-pitcher no-hitters in baseball since 1966.

Wade also had 10 strikeouts to give him 207 for his career, which is the school record for career strikeouts.

He is 7-2 this season with a 1.38 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 50⅔ innings.

Laguna Beach is 13-8 overall and 6-3 in the Pacific Coast League.
