    • April 5, 2026

The Fullerton softball team hit five home runs in a 9-4 victory over Ganesha in the semifinals of the Michelle Carew Classic on Saturday afternoon at Peralta Park in Anaheim.

Fullerton (17-1), the top-ranked team in Orange County, will play Norco for the championship Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Hayley Brock, who has powered the Indians offense throughout the tournament, hit two home runs, giving the senior four home runs and 12 RBIs through four games in the tournament.

Malaya Majam-Finch went 2 for 3 with two home runs, four RBIs and two runs scored and Andrea Montes De Oca went 2 for 3 with a home run.

“(My first) home run was on an inside pitch that I was kind of looking in and sitting in because I was watching what she was throwing the other girls,” Majam-Finch said. “I knew I wouldn’t get the same pitch again so I was looking out on my next at-bat and I was able to hit it out.”

The score was 3-3 in the fourth when Montes De Oca hit a solo home run. Brock hit a two-run home run two batters later to give the Indians a 6-3 lead.

After Ganesha scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, Majam-Finch broke the game open in fifth with a three-run home run to give the Indians a five-run lead.

“We haven’t done that all season,” Fullerton coach Trevor Holton said of the power display. “I think we had five home runs as a team coming into this tournament. We find different ways to win.”

The game was called in the sixth inning because of the one-hour, 45-minute time limit rule for all tournament games.

    In another semifinal:

Norco 2, Orange Lutheran 0: The fifth-ranked Lancers (10-4) had runners in scoring position with less than two outs in three separate innings but couldn’t come through with that one extra hit against Cougars pitcher Peyton May.

Orange Lutheran will play Ganisha for third place Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Lancers pitcher Rylee Silva allowed two runs on five hits with five strikeouts and no walks through six innings.

The contest was called after six innings due to the time-limit rule.
