Lupe Fiasco to headline Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach Friday concert
    • April 1, 2026

Rapper and singer Lupe Fiasco is set to help kick off Southern California’s 200-mph beach party, when he headlines the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach’s concert on April 17.

This year’s Grand Prix of Long Beach will take place in the city’s downtown from April 17-19, offering three days of high-speed fun for racing fans from across the world. The 2025 Grand Prix, celebrating the event’s 50th anniversary, drew around 197,000 spectators to the city’s waterfront.

Each year, the Friday night concert helps kick the weekend into gear. Last year, DJ duo DVBBS, known for hits “Tsunami,” “La La Land” and “Not Going Home,” delivered an electric set.

Fiasco, meanwhile, is an icon in the hip hop and rap genre, known for his masterful lyricism and innovative sound, the Grand Prix of Long Beach Association said in a Tuesday announcement.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Lupe Fiasco to the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach for our Friday concert presented by Acura,” Jim Liaw, the association’s president and CEO, said in the announcement. “He’s an extraordinary artist with a dynamic stage presence, and this performance will be an exciting way for fans to finish off a great day of racing, entertainment and the Long Beach lifestyle.”

Fiasco is best known for hits including “Superstar,” “Kick Push,” “The Show Goes On” and “Battle Scars.” Fiasco’s most recent album, his ninth release, “Samurai,” was released in 2024 and is a concept album dedicated to the legacy of the late singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse.

“I’ve always been a fan of racing and car culture,” Fiasco said, “so I’m happy to be a part of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.”

Fiasco’s show will get underway at the Terrace Theater on April 17 at 6:30 p.m. All Grand Prix Friday ticketholders will get free entry to the show.

Tickets for Day 1 of the Grand Prix start at $58 for general admission.
