Severely burned man rescued from garage fire in Santa Ana
    • March 15, 2025

A man suffered severe burns after police helped him escape a garage fire early Saturday morning, Mar. 15, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to the blaze around 2:15 a.m. on the 800 block of South Flower Street, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Sean Doran said.

Before fire crews arrived, Santa Ana police officers forced open the door of the detached, modified garage, where the fire was burning. Moments later, a man, severely burned, ran out of the structure.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to the house. The victim, whose identity was not released, was in critical condition at the scene, Doran said.

No updates were available later in the day.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
