A 24-year-old man suspected of fatally striking a 47-year-old transient woman in Anaheim in a hit-and-run crash last week has been arrested, police said Monday.

According to witness reports, on the early morning of Sep. 15 a dark-colored SUV headed westbound on Katella Avenue fled the scene after the driver struck a female pedestrian who was in the traffic lanes. The woman, Sabrina Ruiz Adame, suffered a traumatic injury and later died at the hospital, police said in a statement.

On Sept. 18, police arrested Edgar Arce from Anaheim on suspicion of a felony hit-and-run. The SUV used in the incident was also recovered, officials said.

Police urge anyone with information about this incident to contact the Anaheim Police Department at 714-765-1900 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
