No injuries reported after small plane runs off runway at Fullerton Airport
    • April 25, 2025

No injuries were reported Thursday afternoon after a single-engine plane ran off the runway at the Fullerton Municipal Airport.

The mishap occurred around 5:30 p.m. at 4011 West Commonwealth Avenue. Fullerton Fire Battalion Chief Jordan Morris told OC Hawk News the plane was unable to stop before the end of the runway and “ran off” into the runoff area before it came to a stop.

The two passengers aboard the Cirrus SR22 aircraft were uninjured.

Earlier this year, a small Vans RV-10 experimental aircraft crashed through the roof of Michael Nicholas Designs, a large furniture manufacturing building in Fullerton on Jan. 3. The pilot had radioed a request for an emergency landing at the Fullerton Municipal Airport shortly before. The pilot Pascal Reid, and his daughter Kelly from Huntington Beach, died.

Another 19 people working inside the building were injured and several were burned.

Before that, two people aboard a 1969 Mooney M-20 suffered moderate injuries after the pilot hit a tree and crashed on a street in Fullerton in November 2024. He had tried to make an emergency landing shortly after he took off from the Fullerton Municipal Airport.
